Latest Beta Version of FontCreator

Postby Dave Crosby » Fri Jul 13, 2007 8:52 pm

I've just downloaded FC 5.6.

Put a caterpillar in a cocoon and it soon turns into a beautiful butterfly.
What would happen if you put a butterfly into a cocoon?

Well, that is what has happened with FC! It is now beyond magnificent :!:

I am blown away with the NEW Labeled lines for Win ascent, descent, cap height, x-height and baseline.
Why didn't I ask for that years ago?

And the latest Complete composites! Between Erwin Denissen and Bhikkhu Pesala this has really blossomed!

I was just working with FC on a new font (that I hadn't touched for some months) when I realized there is still one thing I would like.

Erwin, How about opening the Comparison dialog box and being able to press the arrow keys to see how A looks with a, b, c, d, etc. ?

That way we could quickly see where something isn't positioned quite right.

And There's More Too

Well Dave, you must not have found the new location and features of Font Properties. Now it tells you which are the tallest, biggest, widest glyphs in the kingdom...

That is worth the price of admission for me... Can go right to the offending character...

Font Properties

I glanced briefly at Font Properties, but I didn't realize I could scroll down the list and click on any item and zappo! I'm at the offending glyph!

THANKS TD! With your help, I'll figure out how to use this program yet!

Perhaps.

It doesn't have anything to do with FC does it?
