Lucky you! FontCreator has the best support of any product I am aware of.
Open Font Creator and press the Help button. Select Contents and Index. On the left hand you will see:
Select Search. Enter Naming, Or Bold, or italic or ... and a wealth of information will appear.

Trial and Error is a great way to learn. This is why kids easily outdo us old timers. They are willing to try different things. This product has lots of "Features" not mentioned in the manual that we stumble onto from time to time and Erwin just smiles and says "Yeah, I was going to mention that."
