Using Rapidshare

http://www.Rapidshare.com is a free web site where you can upload and save files in a public area. They give a url address which can be emailed to others to access these files. This is how files can be "given" to many people at the same time. It is a free service for everyone. Of course, if you buy a premium subscription you have faster access to both uploading and downloading. It is not necessary to have a premium account.

If you come in through certain isps, such as AOL, there can be major problems as AOL hides your "real name" from Rapidshare which thinks you're just "AOL". Since all users coming in through AOL look like "AOL", Rapidshare thinks you've used their free service too much and says to "wait awhile"... which never changes.

The only way around this problem is to have another logon id which you can get from many sites: Yahoo, Google, MSN, etc. These are free and easy to setup. Signing up for one of these address gets around the lockout from Rapidshare. There are other advantages to having secondary accounts in case you want to hide your identity -- and call yourself something like "The Texas Dude".
